> Back in the day, it was a librarian’s job to Acquire, Collect, Organize, Retrieve, and Disseminate (ACORD) information. To what extent, if at all, has that changed? Traditional library administration responsibilities, like cataloging, are more important than ever in the digital landscape, but should cataloging itself be adapted for the Google Generation? Acquisitions and materials selection decisions are far more complex than they used to be. Format change occurs so fast that many libraries stopped circulating certain media types altogether - audio, for instance. In this webinar, we challenge library administration, as we’ve known it. What is still important? What should we relinquish? Possible topics include Dewey, inventory, cataloging, materials selection, and acquisitions.
