[CASL-L] Gift Suggestion Needed

A colleague of my wife is leaving her work at Yale as a molecular technologist to enroll at the University of New Haven in January for certification as a Biology teacher.
She would like to get her something appropriate as a farewell gift that would tie in both education and her area of teaching. 
I'm drawing a blank for ideas (this sort of thing is not my strong point) and wanted to see if anyone might have any suggestions I could pass on to her.
