We also still use Current Biography in print form as buying it online was cost prohibitive. There are various research assignments for which it is useful....even though we also have access to reliable online biographical sources. There are also times when no computers are available and students need access to information at that second...it's quick to hand them the book and/or make a copy of the needed article.
CLC and all the other related Gale publications (TCLC, NCLC, etc.) are occasionally useful...however, our English curriculum has changed and formerly heavy use has become rare. In the interest of space, it is quite possible that we will need to dispose of them in future.

Current Biography is still one of my favorite sources, even with all the excellent bio databases out there--I don't have the heart to toss them, and make it a point to use a volume or two at least once a year so I can justify the shelf space.

Hi all,

We are in possession of very old books, specificially Current Biography (from the 1950s), and Contemporary Lit Criticisms (in poor condition) from at least 30 years ago. My question is, does anyone do anything productive with these books? Is there a responsible way to discard them? We've looked around and had no luck.

Thanks so much!
Rachel
