Information on ALA status has been available on the ILS department website and has been updated as we move through the process. Currently on the website is a summary of last Saturday’s informational meeting (last item on the department menu).

We have been working with Stephanie Shteirman and Mary Ellen Minichiello, with input from constituents (see ‘Shared Vision’ on the department website), to develop a master’s degree in school media that is more streamlined and geared specifically to the knowledge and skills needed by today’s media specialists. That curriculum has been approved by the faculty. We are now preparing the needed paperwork for the next steps in the process. Information will be available at our booth at AASL as well as a signup sheet for those who would like to be on an emailing list for forthcoming information.

If you have a minute, it would be appreciated if you would complete a survey at < http://surveys.southernct.edu/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=84MK4l6 > that concerns a current project; information on it will also be available at AASL including an upcoming institute and scholarships.

Official information on ALA status, process, and plans is available from the department chairperson, the school dean, or the graduate school dean. Contact information is available on the department website (‘Contact Us’ on the department menu).

Please stop by our booth (#1036) at AASL. We would love to see you and would be happy to answer your questions.
