We purchased 2 high top tables this spring for the library at Ellington Middle School and they are very popular! The students, staff, and parents that visit the library are all drawn to them. We’ve got 4 more on order that should arrive this summer. They actually make collaborative work easier with room for the stools (I have 4 at a table) and still room for others to stand around the table without bending over or kneeling on the floor cause there aren’t enough chairs.
This purchase coincides with a technology refresh year so we’re removing 12 of our 18 desktop computers (replacing with Chromebooks for more flexible use) and that will free up space for the tables. At this time, we aren’t planning to remove any of our current regular height tables but we’ll see how everything fits and go from there!

I ordered mine from Demco. They are very sturdy and the stools are comfortable with a good weight to them.

I hope this helps!

Hi all,
I am wondering how many of you have high tables in your high School library -- like the ones found in a coffee shop.

My principal seems to think this is a good idea and wants to remove some of my study carrels and replace with "modern furniture". I am thinking this is not a good idea, as I have students that like to sit at the study carrels. I am also thinking the high top tables will not be good for working on school projects. As there would only be a few I assume I cannot use ADA compliant as a reason for not having the tables.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.
