[CASL-L] pro/con resource: middle school reading level?

My 10th graders use Proquest SIRS and stumbled upon the Visual Search - I'd forgotten about it! It's similar to Pearltrees in the way it expands to the next topic.

I prefer ProQuest SIRS database. Issues are identified with essential questions and articles addressing the topic in addition to several graphic organizers, etc. I've used Gale Opposing Viewpoints in Context and have found it a little more difficult for students to interact with.

Gale also publishes Introducing Issues with Opposing Viewpoints, written for a middle school audience.

All 500 of our freshmen write research papers on controversial topics, so I am familiar with this type of resource. In addition to using procon.org<http://procon.org/>, which I like, we also subscribe to three databases:

Issues and Controversies by ABC-Clio
Opposing Viewpoints by Gale
Points of View by Ebsco

I think Points of View has the best interface and articles for students working at a remedial level.

We subscribe to the Issues and Controversies database, which is great, but some teachers are looking for similar resources that are more accessible to students with lower reading levels.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
