Dear Colleagues,
I am posting information about CONFRATUTE, a fabulous international
educational conference held at the University of Connecticut each summer.
The focus of the week-long conference is gifted education, talent
development and enrichment-based teaching. I am always a little
disappointed that there are so few librarians in attendance because
quality library programs are all about "high-end" teaching/learning,
enrichment, and talent development.
Susannah Richards, a former Newbery Selection Committee member (2013),
offers two book/reading-related conference strands (Books as Hooks For
Creating Lifelong Readers & Creating Challenge for Talented Readers and
Writers) that I highly recommend.
The whole conference feels like summer camp for adults (for the full
experience stay in the dorms...)
