It’s election time at the American Library Association (ALA). Now is your moment to help shape the future of the organization and our field. Voting in the 2014 ALA presidential election and other items began yesterday, March 19, and will close at 11:59 p.m. CT on April 25. Make your voice heard by supporting president-elect candidates Sari Feldman or Maggie Farrell.
School librarians can also guide the future of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) by voting on two proposed amendments to its bylaws that are geared to increase member access and inclusion in AASL activities.
While you’re at it, don’t forget to participate in the Library Journal inaugural survey, open until March 30. Your input will help us deliver comprehensive view of national trends in pay.
Join SLJ editor Daryl Grabarek and a group of nationally-known educators for three in-depth webcasts about the Common Core State Standards. Register now for these events, kicking off on April 1.
