[CASL-L] Staffing Library Media Center for before/after school hours

I am very fortunate to have two well-needed, well-used assistants.  One arrives by 7, and the other by 7:15.  They "open" the library.  I have a staggered schedule that allows me to miss first period and arrive for second (8:15 or so); I then work an extra period of the day (making up for the one I missed) for what I call an after school library program until 4pm (which also includes our contracted 30 minutes past the work day).  If I am needed A period, then I make arrangements to get here at the start of school, but I will still keep the library open as expected from the students and staff, but maybe leave a bit earlier on a Friday to equal out my time.



I used to work the contracted full day and then get a stipend for the after school program, but after having children, going in later worked better for me and the language to do so is in our contract.

Good Morning! Quick information gathering question: for those of you whose library media center is open before and/or after school, how do you staff it? For instance, staggered hours with other staff members? Special before/after school programs run by other teachers? Etc…?
