My district (Stratford) is one of a number around the state that are participating in a series of workshops through CES starting tomorrow as we look to moving our library media centers to a Learning Commons.
A few years ago I was fortunate enough to attend a NESLA conference where we visited one of the first school libraries to change to a Learning Commons—Chelmsford High School in Massachusetts.
A number of us in Connecticut may know Valerie Diggs who was the Library Media Specialist there.
I had heard today that she was let go from her job this week because of a $400,000 budgeting mistake in her district.
