[CASL-L] Goals at the HS Level

Hi,

It's that time of year again - creating our SLOs!

I know this question was asked at the end of last year, but I was hoping
that since goals are fresh in our minds that it might be helpful to share.
:)

I am at the high school level so I am truly interested in SLO goals
targeted at this age category. Anybody care to share their SLOs? Do you
teach a research class? If so, how long do you have the students to ensure
showing growth over time - a quarter, half-year, or full year? Do you
teach an entire grade level, an Honors class, etc... Or do you collaborate
with a teacher(s) at your school? If so, what subject area? Do you do your
own assessment connected to your SLO goal or do you rely on the teacher's
assessment? Is the collaboration and goal based on a unit or does it
encompass a year's worth of growth? How big is the group you track - a
grade level, a class?

Does anyone not have to create a SLO in lieu of tracking something
indirectly connected to student learning - something like increasing the
number of books students read, etc...? (and this is counted as the larger
portion of your evaluation)

Finally, do you know of any great sites with example SLOs? Any info at all
would be helpful! Thanks in advance for sharing.
