With the new requirements of Common Core curriculum, teachers and librarians alike may struggle with ways to present good nonfiction choices to students. In this half day workshop, Caitlin Augusta will talk about new nonfiction titles for children Kindergarten to grade eight and help you discover ways to incorporate games and technology into nonfiction booktalks. Participants are encouraged to bring one nonfiction book they would like to use with students for a discussion on crafting the perfect booktalk.

Prezi is a virtual whiteboard that transforms presentation from monologues into conversations. In this 1 hour webinar, we will demonstrate the different features of Prezi, from the Desktop app, to the web-based service.

Setting the stage for a statewide event, the Division of Library Development is bringing the dialogue first to Connecticut Libraries. We want to hear how your library, your community, and your local policy makers are "rising to the challenge" to re-envision library service in your community.

Attend this session to refresh your skills and expand your reQuest ILL knowledge. Steve Cauffman will review the reQuest ILL system, particularly the Participant Record and the Lending Policy. You will be able to adjust your library's reQuest ILL settings during the session.
