[CASL-L] Nutmeg Voting

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the delay in response. We had a discussion over email with the Nutmeg Steering Committee to make sure we gave out the right information.

The official word is:

Students may vote once for their favorite book. If they have read books from multiple categories (Elementary, Intermediate, Teen, or High School), they may vote once per category.

If any further clarification is needed, please let us know.

Thanks!
-Lisa

My students are in grades 6 - 8 and they read both the intermediate and teen Nutmegs for their summer reading. I had asked this question years ago and was given the OK to have students choose a favorite nominee from each category from a member of the Nutmeg steering committee. So when my students vote, they are given two lists, the intermediate and the teen and they may choose one from each if they wish.

This is my first year in the library. We have grades 5-8 and many have read books off both the Intermediate and Teen list. I read that students should vote only once, but wondering why they can't vote in more than one category if they've read books in both? My understanding is that there are winners at each level.
Thanks,
