Hello, everyone-
I've spent the last few days in Washington, DC participating in the ALA National Library Legislative Day. We are still working to ensure school librarians are in ESEA and the importance of all librarians working together was stressed by the ALA folks. It was very refreshing to see school libraries as one of the top three asks!!

Good news from NEA! I'm reassured both as AASL President and personally as a member that NEA knows the importance of the instructional role of school librarians and are working diligently to make sure that everyone else knows too. They heard our tweets - a reminder that it will be even more important for us in similar ways to call on Congress to include school librarians for the Every Child Achieves Act.

Thank you for all you've done to make our voices heard. Keep up the great work!
