I found this link online: http://communitytable.parade.com/324334/cmcandrews/13-scrumptious-food-themed-childrens-books/#gallery_324334-1

Includes Eating the Alphabet by Lois Ehlert, Bread and Jam for Frances, by Hoban

Also Blueberries for Sal and How my parents learned to Eat come to mind. Growing Vegetable Soup (also Ehlert)
And cookbooks, like Pretend Soup by Mollie Katzen

Hi,

I'm in a K-2 school. My cafeteria staff approached me about doing something fun with the lunch menu for Children's Book week in May. (I'm thrilled they came to me!)

I'm looking for creative ideas - to connect books with "what's for lunch."

They always do green eggs for us on Dr. Seuss' birthday, so we want something different. I've thought of the Very Hungry Caterpillar and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but I'm stuck after that. We are looking for a whole week's worth. I looked online - thought menu/book combos would pop right up, but I didn't find anything. Any suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks in advance.

Pam
