Chase Collegiate School hosting Random Hacks of Kindness, Junior

Chase Collegiate School is partnering with Random Hacks of Kindness, Jr. to hold a one-day "hack-a-thon" at Chase Collegiate School on February 27th from 8:30am-3:30pm. The event is free of charge and open to all 4th-8th graders. On that day students will be paired with computer science mentors and local nonprofit representatives to develop a prototype smartphone app for the charity using MIT app inventor (http://appinventor.mit.edy/explore/). Students will learn the basics of app design, as well as the ideation and brainstorming process to build a successful prototype. This program requires NO prior coding knowledge as it is intended as a code-to-learn tool. All students regardless of their computer background are welcome.

The mission of Random Hacks of Kindness Junior is to empower students to use technology to positively impact the challenges facing local nonprofits in their communities. For additional information or to register contact Patrice Gans - reesegans at gmail.com
