[CASL-L] Board Games Question

A teacher has started a video game club - meets in the library. 6-8 TVs- recycled from the AV collection of 'Stuff' are rolled in, and kids hook up their games in pods around the library.
They had a mini championship bracket going. They get roudy at times and need some redirection. I don't leave them there alone, and it's great to have someone else act as the parent on duty. The kids have fun and don't get too cheeky. They seem to appreciate that the admin team gave them a trial "a-ok" and it wraps up by 4-4:30. I can leave the teacher in charge if I need to. He understands that I welcome them and want them to respect our space. So far so good, and I see no storm clouds on the horizon.
I was chastised years ago for allowing students to knit in the library ( and helping them out ) by a former principal. I hope we have moved a little farther ahead. Knitting needles don't make much noise during study halls!

Hi Michele,
There is a new board game cafe in Middletown. They have lots of different games and might be able to suggest something. Good luck!

Subject: [CASL-L] Board Games Question
Hi,
I have been asking a lot of questions lately! Great input from everyone...
so here goes one more.
Do any HS have board games available for students that encourage critical
thinking and if so what do you have?
We have checkers, chess and Scrabble. Recently a suggestion was made to
offer more to the students, but push back arose from administration which
got me curious as to policies in other schools.
As always any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)
Sincerely,
