Please see the responses below to my question: do you think a security gate is worth the money at your library?

Thoughts
Sarah Briggs
Milford HS
Have security system and turned off because gates going off because of cell phones and ipods.
3 staff members, 900 students, lots of foot traffic
Did inventory and didn't notice a change in lost books with gate off. Will continue to leave gate off.
Denise DeMello
King Philip MS, West Hartford
No security system.
900 students
Don't need security system.
Loretta Sullivan
Manchester HS
No security system.
1600 students, 5 staff members (at different times)
Security system not warm and inviting.
Jessica Wismar
Bethel HS
Yes.
300-500 student visits per day
On the fence. Security system sometimes a nuisance because students prank. Hard to tell who sets it off.
Barb Lyons
Wilton HS
Getting rid of.
Kids pranking, redesigning space and want entrance to be more appealing, want to spend the money in other ways.
