[CASL-L] ESL (ELL) US History textbook for middle school students

I have a teacher who is looking for a US history textbook to use with his
middle school ESL students. Ideal book would be engaging for middle school,
appropriate reading level for ESL, and include plenty of activities. (Why
reinvent the wheel if they're already there somewhere?!)
