(Something for next year...)

We had a successful collaboration with our food services department this
year during Children's Book Week. (A number of people asked me to share
the results, here they are...)

*Children's Book Week - *Brought to you by Birch Grove Library and BGP Food
Services
Each day was brought to you by a different book...(See attached flyer and
menu below)
Children's Book week was advertised on our lunch menu.
We announced the book each morning during announcements.
There was a guest reader at least once that week at each lunch shift,
sometimes more. They read the "sponsoring" book or another "food related
book." (See attached list - thank you to all of you for sharing!)
We had bookmarks/activity sheets from the Children's Book Week website
We had displays in the cafeteria (the featured book was at the cashier)
We had displays in the library

It was great fun, easy to do, a great collaboration, thanks to food
services for suggesting it.

Feel free to use whatever you wish next year.

The Menu
Strega Nona = Creamy Macaroni & Cheese
Rainbow Fish = Tuna Sandwich on Goldfish Roll
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs = Pasta & Meatballs
Dragon's Love Tacos (It was Cinco de Mayo too!) = Nacho Boat
If you Give a Pig a Pancake = Pancake and sausage
