[CASL-L] Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario

Good morning,

I am  currently reading Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nazario with our 5H Spanish class and their teacher.

Has anyone else read this book with a class/students?

We are looking into having Mrs. Nazario come to Old Saybrook in the Spring.  The issue is the cost.  Does anyone know of a grant we could apply for to have an author visit?  We are looking into fundraising as well. Mrs. Nazario said she is willing to go to two different schools to help alleviate the cost or present at a community event at night.  Let me know if you are interested.  Her cost is $7,000.  I have $1,000 covered so far.
