You can also set up a Titlewish Fundraiser through Follett. http://www.titlewish.com/ It is very easy to set up.

 Mary Lee,

Welcome to the $0 budget club.  : (    We in
Norwalk haven't had library budgets for going on 6
years.  I'm not sure how long it's going to take to
recover.  Please do share any info you find in your
 research!

Meanwhile, let me recommend:  1) apply for DonorsChoose
grants to supplement the collection.  Requests that
show library collaboration with a classroom teacher tend to
get noticed, so sit down with a teacher, map out a project,
see what resources you'll need beyond your existing
collection, and submit a proposal for those items; 2) apply
for the James Patterson/Scholastic reading grant if and when
it rolls around again; 3) if you're a member of AASL, ALSC,
or YALSA, see if they have grants available; 4) comb used
book sales and Goodwill, and take up a bottle/can collection
for redemption in your library--because, as I remind people,
20 empty water bottles equals one Goodwill
 paperback.

 Good luck!

  Hi all,

I had no money for library books last year & am trying
to get some. I remember somebody once said that it takes
five years to recover from a zero library book budget.
 Does
anyone have any research to back this up? I'm continuing
 to
research this & will let you know.

  Thanks,
  Mary Lee
