You could try something like Edsitement.  Here is a link to a lesson plan around Pompeii that explores life at that time: https://edsitement.neh.gov/lesson-plan/old-pompeii#sect-activities .  Didn’t explore further.

Hello!

I am looking for ideas to help a teacher find sources on Roman life.  I am going to the the Library of Congress, ResearchitCT, and our databases, but is there anything else out there that you/your teachers use to help with projects related to this topic?  This is the description that the teacher gave me:

 I was wondering what kind of assistance you could offer for my kids doing research on Roman life. I'm going to give students a choice between doing a culinary project or a project about identity. I have some good web resources for culinary projects in terms of authentic recipes, but would love some resources on the social context of food (different classes, different times of day, special occasions).

Also, I was wondering if you had resources on other aspects of Roman life. I'm asking students to create a profile of a person (fictional or based on a historical figure) which includes occupations, social class and activities. I am a big fan of Fant & Lefkowitz' Women's Life in Greece and Rome which has an online edition ( http://www.stoa.org/diotima/anthology/wlgr/ ) but I was wondering if we have other resources in our collection our kids could use.

Any and all suggestions is appreciated!
