I am with the nonprofit organization, Random Hacks of Kindness Junior. (
www.rhokjr.org) Our mission is to empower students to use technology for
social good.

Join Random Hacks of Kindness, Jr. at Sacred Heart Greenwich on Saturday,
February 25, 2017 to learn how to code for a cause! During a one-day
“hackathon”, students in grades 4 - 8 will be paired with high school
mentors to help develop and code prototype smartphone apps for local
nonprofit organizations.

All students are welcome. This event is open to the public and requires no
prior coding knowledge. Using MIT App Inventor, students will learn the
basics of app design, as well as the ideation and brainstorming process
required to build a successful prototype mobile application.

The one-day event will introduce boys and girls to technology and show how
it can be used to create solutions that benefit non-profit organizations.
“Participants will work with computer science mentors to create technology
for social good,” said Patrice Gans, director of Random Acts of Kindness
Jr. “By the end of the day, we hope they will see how technology can have a
positive impact on someone’s life
