Keynote Speaker
Sunday Keynote Speaker: "The Mindful Librarian" - Richard J. Moniz, Jr., MA, MLIS, EdD - Participants will be introduced to the basic principles of mindfulness and how a mindfulness-based approach can improve the specific work we do as librarians. Two separate studies will be shared exploring the basic stressors and challenges facedby librarians, which in turn serve as the biggest hurdles in maintaining a mindful approach. Data will also be shared regarding the awareness and practice of librarians regarding mindfulness as it currently stands. Lastly, participants will receive multiple suggestions as to how to become more engaged in the topic moving forward.
