As a regional high school, I invited my public librarians (3 of the sending
towns) in during September to issue library cards on the spot. Although
not many teachers were doing research at the time, it was a great way to
get the public library and school library working together! I'm thinking
of doing it again after Thanksgiving to get more library cards in the
hands of the kids. I can also email them, provide the student info
necessary, and then pickup the cards for the cards or have them mailed to
me.
