[CASL-L] Mentors Needed!

I have been a Library Assistant in an Elementary School for a few years but after earning my SLMS certification my principal was able to change my position into an LMS position.  This means I’m trying to expand my program and have increased my planning but I’m trying to find the balance between maintaining some of the qualities of my former program while meeting the expectations of an Elementary LMS.  One of the questions that has come up is whether or not students will be graded in Library.  I have not encountered many LMS that grade so I wanted to see if other districts give grades or not.  Please let me know if you do or do not give grades for library and what your thoughts are on grading pro or con.

Also, has anyone been in a similar situation of moving from Library Assistant to LMS in a school that was without an LMS for a significant amount of time and that does not have more than one staff person? If you have and would be willing to work with me on answering some of my questions or serving as a mentor for me please let me know!
