2. New Category Names
3. 2020 Selection Committees
4. WANTED: 2020 Teen / Middle School Book Award Selection Chairperson
*1. *2019 Selection Committees are hard at work finalizing their nominee
lists. These top secret lists have to be finalized and then confirmed with
the publishers for availability. The 2019 Nominees will then be announced
to librarians on February 14, 2018 with the public launch on May 1, 2108.
Thank you to all the Selection Committee Chairpersons and to all the
Selection Committee members for your work to put together these lists.
*2. *Nutmeg Book Award Levels have slightly changed names and grade
divisions.
We listened to feedback that the names with the multiple levels was
sometimes confusing. SO here are the new names and grade levels. These will
officially switch with the 2020 lists but we will start using both names in
our publications.
Former Category Name & Grade Level New Category Name & Grade Level

Intermediate Nutmeg Award Grades 4-6 Intermediate Grades 4-6 Nutmeg Award
Teen Nutmeg Award Grades 7-8 Middle School Grades 7-8 Nutmeg Award

*3. *2020 Selection Committees are starting their process. Applications for
student and librarian readers will be shared via this listserv and posted
to our website by this Sunday, October 15th. Applications will be due by
November 15th.
