"Hello, colleagues,
Some of you may know that Pam Harland and I have been working to bring David Loertscher to NH for the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference (CMTC) November 27-30. Information regarding registration is now posted to the conference web site<http://nhcmtc.org/> should you wish to share this with your members. David will be conducting three conference sessions- here are the preliminary descriptions:
* Monday pre-conference (7:30 breakfast; 8 a.m. - 3 p.m) is an interactive presentation by David and includes a panel of practitioners transitioning from library to learning commons, and a field trip to the Shapiro Library/Wolak Learning Commons at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). This session is critical for anyone considering the learning commons model. (Cost: $175 includes continental breakfast, box lunch and transportation to/from to SNHU)
* A Monday afternoon (3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m) Is a special session designed for district leaders and school administrators looking to maximize the potential and leverage the assets of the school library. (Cost: $35)
* A Tuesday session for everyone: Join David in an interactive discussion where we together define a learning commons as a place for experimentation, play, making, doing, thinking, collaborating, and growing. (Concurrent session included in conference registration daily fee (1-day $165; 3-day $460)
David has also asked us to also share with potential McAuliffe pre-conference attendees, as well as with the other New England states, the following message:
Message from David to NE States: Dr. David V Loertscher is conducting a research study on the impact that teacher librarians have on co-taught learning experiences with classroom teachers. Participation requires very little time and offers a technique to track your impact in your school. He has prepared a website that explains the simple process: https://sites.google.com/view/dowemakeadifference/home
You can indicate your interest by emailing him directly at reader.david at gmail<mailto:reader.david at gmail>.com
Thanks for your assistance in getting the word out!
