As many of you may know, the statistics for school librarians in Michigan are not good.

Only 8% of our schools have full-time certified librarians and only 18% have either full- or part-time certified librarians.

Thus, MAME continues to work toward advocating to change this and, in particular, raise awareness of the critical need for equitable access to certified school librarians for our students.


This past week, the Detroit News published an op-ed "School Library Media Specialists Critical to Student Achievement."  I thought that I would share.
