How to Demonstrate Sustainability for Grant Projects

Crafting a sustainability plan for when grant funding is no longer available is critical to ensuring long term program success. This course provides key elements needed in a sustainability plan. It covers the basics such as: strategies for sustainability, how to demonstrate sustainability, how to write a sustainability plan, creating a vision statement, building sustainability into project and program design, and a discussion on outcomes based measurement. The course covers funding strategies and development planning. Participants will leave with strategies for developing a sustainability plan and for discussing sustainability strategies within the grant proposal.

Consider attending this workshop if you plan on applying for one of the Connecticut State Library's LSTA grants, which will be due in early April 2018.

Objectives:

*         After completing this course, learners should be able to do the following:

*         Identify strategies for sustaining current and planned projects and programs;

*         Use data from the project to support sustainability planning;

*         Identify key staff/roles/functions needed to support long-term project growth and performance;

*         Involve key stakeholders in identifying sustainability strategies;

*         Project long-term revenue and expenses for projects.

Who Should Attend?

*         Program leaders who are responsible for long-term program sustainability.

*         Grant managers and writers who need help demonstrating grant project sustainability.

*         Individuals who require an introduction to grants management.

*         Any individual who needs help identifying strategies for program growth.

*         Those who will be applying for a Connecticut State Library, LSTA grant.

This is a free, in-person workshop taking place at the Middletown Library Service Center. The presenter is Ira Revels.
