Maria Bernier and I do weeding workshops and our PowerPoint is online here:

On pages 30-31 of the PowerPoint you will find a whole bunch of ideas for how to get rid of weeded books!

Subject: [goodnightmoon] What do you do with weeded books from a high school media center

I am in the middle of inventorying the books in my media center. It has not been done in a while! This is my second full year in the position and I am still getting acclimated to everything that needs to be done, like inventory. ;) We recently went through a remodeling that left me with far fewer shelves than before and I have had to be creative as to where to put all the books. I've decided weeding is my only option, especially with *very* old science non-fiction books. My question is: What do you do with weeded books? Does your district have a weeding policy? If so, can you please share it. My district is very small and we do not currently have one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
