[CASL-L] Copyright Question

Hello everyone!

Happy Friday and the almost start to a long weekend...

Question for all of you copyright experts - we have a LARGE collection of
music CDs that are stored in the LMC.  No one checks them out.  Ever.  I
have asked our music department if they want them.  The question they asked
was could they be digitized and then accessed whenever needed from their
computers.

So - can they?  If we own them, do we have the right to digitize and share
them to our music department for school use?
