Hi there!
I am at an elementary school and have created a makerspace. Please feel free to contact me if anyone would like to check it out. Last year I was awarded a grant through CAS to run a STEM Squad after school program. The Stem Squad will be trained as experts in the makerspace and includes representatives in grades 1-4 from each classroom. I am in the process of creating the lessons and will make them available on my Google Site called Mrs. Yacawych's Toolkit. I have aligned my lessons with the NGSS and ISTE Standards.

Subject: [CASL-L] Library Makerspaces

Good morning,

My fellow district library media specialists and I are interested in learning about and visiting local CT schools that have embraced the maker movement in their libraries to see the different approaches to implementation. Do you have a makerspace in your school library or in your school in general? Would you be willing to have a few visitors come and see how your space works and how you got started? We would ideally like to see examples from different levels so that we can approach it from a districtwide mindset.

Thanks so much for any information or advice you can share!
