Good morning,

The COCBA Committee is pleased to announce the 8 nominees f
<http://www.cocba.org/nominees>or the 2018-2019 Charter Oak Book Award
program. Many hours of reading and evaluating goes into this decision. We
look for books that include all the artistic design elements of teaching
the Whole Book Approach. We choose books that connect to K-3 students, and
titles that might not be as well known yet! Our goal is to shine a
spotlight on some authors you may not be as well aware of... as well as the
ones who already get tons of attention. I think you'll enjoy these
nominees! And more importantly, your students and families will too!

Please join
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScV64-xiOIkL5lqbKQxKFqLBS6_mv0jJSOiCuhgdWOQ1UFx5g/viewform>
so you can receive all email updates, lesson ideas, parent supplements, etc.

In addition, a Padlet Wall <https://padlet.com/jmartellino6/i300iu3vchzf>
will be our official sharing place for ideas, resources, etc. It's
formatted in the "Shelf" format, so be sure to scroll both sideways and up
and down. All can contribute to it. Many resources get posted in the
spring months since that is when the majority of the schools focus on the
awards program.

Lastly, I am reaching out to all the authors regarding school visits, so
please wait before contacting them. I will send out an email only to the
schools who register to participate on author visit info.

Personally, I could not be more excited about kicking off the 8th COCBA
program!

Any questions, please reach out.

Thanks,
COCBA Committee <http://www.cocba.org/committee>
