[CASL-L] Summer Reading Ideas

At my high school, I’m collaborating with the English department and our local public library on summer reading. We’re thinking of emphasizing the Nutmeg nominees and organizing some kind of advisory activity around that in the fall (maybe book chats based on each title, etc.) I’d love to hear from other high schools who have done this—and has anyone done a successful whole-school kickoff event? I usually visit all the English classes to talk it up and promote summer reading on our TV news, but I’d also love to have an author visit or some other tie-in this year.

Hi:

We have a Summer Reading list. We are also going to push for Summer Learning Activities. We are in the process of figuring out what that might look like.

Hi All-
Getting our summer reading together and wondering what neat things other schools are doing. List set up? Activities?
Thanks!
