Thank you to all of you who completed the survey. We are carefully reviewing the responses and will send out the agenda soon. Our goal is to provide professional supports for new and veteran library media specialists that complement the opportunities available from other state associations and organizations.

The Council will be facilitated by Jeri Van Leer, who recently retired from her position as Supervisor of Library Media Services for the West Hartford Public Schools. Jeri is a staunch advocate for school libraries who is currently an Adjunct Professor for Southern Connecticut State University, and serves on the Advisory Board for the ACES Alternate Route to Certification for Library Media Specialists (ARCLMS).

ACES facilitates regional content-specific councils for district leaders, team leaders/department heads, and content-area teachers. These councils provide opportunities for:

*         Exploring best practices

*         Interdistrict collaboration on common problems of practice

*         Interfacing with CSDE representatives

*         Networking

*         Professional learning
