Hi Laurie,
I’m posting some links for you. I really like Rachel Isadora, she re-writes traditional fairy tales in an African theme http://www.rachelisadora.com/books.
Here’s link to other diverse and multicultural fairytales that aren’t a lot longer than others in libraries https://www.readbrightly.com/multicultural-fairy-tales-for-children/.
And for more information on diverse literature and articles, here’s a link to the diversity section on our libguides page https://libguides.ctstatelibrary.org/dld/children/diversity.

I hope some of this helps.

Best,
Kym

Subject: [CASL-L] diverse fairy tales

Good morning! I'm looking for some suggestions for diverse fairy tales to add to our elementary library. We have a few, but I'm finding that some are too long for younger students and for teachers to read in class. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
