[CASL-L] 1:1 Chromebook charging preparation?

We have been 1:1 for the past 3 years. Currently we have 20 "loaner"
Chromebooks available to borrow in the Media Center. Students must complete
an electronic ticket for borrowing (for our records) when they come to the
Media Center. Our loaners are for "occasional" borrowing (we do have
repeat offenders for sure) as well as for those Chromebooks that need
repair. Because we do check out the loaners through Destiny, we do have a
history of borrowing for students and can have administration intervene if
we notice it's a continual problem.

We had been noticing an increase in charging requests this year. Last week
we set up a self-serve charging station in the Media Center that the
students can use independently. We didn't advertise this to the school
but we are hoping to eliminate some of the service requests we receive for
Chromebooks by making this charging station readily available.

*When we first rolled out our 1:1 it was *recommended* that teachers hold
students accountable for being prepared with their Chromebooks charged and
ready each school day.
