[CASL-L] Realistic Non-fiction and Dewey

I appreciate that so many people are thinking about this, because I would
like to find some elementary school librarians with whom to share ideas
like these. I have been looking hard at the nonfiction layout, and Dewey
just doesn't always make sense to me. So I move things around and renumber
books.
I like that fairy tale idea. How to label them, though? 398.2 /
Cinderella? But what about the fractured version, which are probably in the
picture book section?
I also like genrefying the biographies. Again, how do you label them? B
Inventors Franklin? B Inventors Ferris?
In my chapter and picture book sections I use classification stickers on
the spines, like Mystery, Fantasy, Dogs, Horses, Scary, and try to teach
students to use these to find good books to read.
But I also agree with having to rotate displays to promote great nonfiction
