[CASL-L] Realistic Non-fiction and Dewey

I've started to group nonfiction books with related topics together and put
them in marked baskets. For example, all the red riding hood tales are
together, all the books on dogs are together (in a basket), etc. I'm also
doing this with fiction picture books....all the "princess" books are in
one basket. I'm hoping that this will make it easier for students to find
the books/topics they are looking for, and thus increase circulation.
I also agree that reading nonfiction aloud is a great way to grab the
students' interest and to encourage them to borrow those books!
