[CASL-L] Summer Lending

I began lending books over the summer last year. Students were able to check out up to 10 books. All books were due back the first week of school.
I, too, didn’t want the books sitting on the shelf for 8 weeks with no one to love them. Students also have more time to read in the summer!
I plan to continue with this practice.

I LOVE lending my books over the summer! I usually set the due date for sometime in the second week of school (I coordinate with the English department in terms of summer reading due dates/ expectations).

We do summer checkout. Normal rules apply. Students are responsible for returning books in the fall.

I am trying to gather information on school libraries that lend materials over the summer. Are there any high schools that allow students to borrow over the summer? If so, what are your policies?

Thanks for your help!
