[CASL-L] Newsela

I did purchase the equivalent of a class license years ago. It was supposed to be a more cooperative project but just didn’t work out the way I wanted. The teacher was not really committed and pulled in different directions. It’s like a Read 180 program that requires fidelity and bigger time blocks than most teachers are willing to give. The material is good, questions and follow up is good, but relying on students to be motivated to improve reading and self monitor..... as Gomer Pyle said, surprise surprise surprise... they don’t care unless you spend time caring too

Hi everyone,

I am interested in finding out if there are any schools that have purchased the subscription PRO account of Newsela and what you like or don't like about it and whether you feel it is worth the money for your staff to use. Thanks!
