I included Kym on this email so she can confirm but I believe RB digital through the state offers the titles as single use access. I just clicked on one title and it said Place a Hold (instead of Checkout). I'm not sure how many of each copy the state has purchased.

In general, for fiction titles with multi-use access, I've had the best luck with Hoopla through the town library.
I was able to work with the head of the town library to get about 125 students public library cards so they could access these books.

I haven't checked yet to see how many of the current or new nominees are available through that platform and I think it varies town to town but it's worth a look!

Good morning!

The state library has purchased all available digital copies of the new nominees for you and your students to access.

The 2020 nominees are currently right at the top of their page https://iconnct.rbdigital.com/ (this will likely be changed over to 2021 nominees May 1)

Your local library may have copies through Hoopla or Overdrive but that would vary town to town.

Hope that helps!

I have checked our town's Hoopla, Overdrive and RBD and found out the following:

Only Hoopla is simultaneous use and they do not have any of the 2021 titles in eBook format. Ironically, they have New Kid, the graphic novel, in audio!
Front Desk is only available in audio in Overdrive.
I Love you, Michael Collins is available in RBD - eBook and audio
New Kid eBook in Overdrive, Hoopla - audio, RBD - audio

Hello all,

I know the voting period for the current Nutmeg nominees is coming to a close, but I have extended a challenge to my students to keep reading them through the end of the school year. I'm wondering if anyone has specifically looked at where these titles are available for free right now? I know the obvious place to start is the public library digital collection, and I will commence a search today (at a student's request), but I didn't want to reinvent the wheel if someone had already put this together. Thanks so much, colleagues!
