[CASL-L] Cool virtual book club opportunity for We Are Not From Here by Jenny Torres Sanchez

 Thank you for the heads up!  I read and reviewed the book earlier this summer (thank God ALA Midwinter in Philadelphia happened, and I went; I got all the good ARCs!!!!), and it is every bit as important as described, especially for those of us who have worked with kids who may have gone through a similar ordeal getting to the U.S.  Also, a story:  when the quarantine began, I had a good hundred books from Midwinter to get me through.  My non-librarian sister did not.  She also is oldschool:  no device for ebooks.  Around May she was telling me on the phone that she ran out of things to read.  She is also oldschool in her reading tastes:  cozy mysteries, Danielle Steel, etc.  I offered to drop off a bag of ARCs on her stoop, but they'd be YA, which she has not read for decades.  A few weeks later I asked how she'd liked the books--and she immediately mentioned We Are Not from Here.  She loved it--and cried all through the second half. So it's not just powerful for teens and librarians.
