I am checking the site often as I lost my job due to the pandemic. LMS are under "instructional support" as are social workers and therapists. Guidance counselors are now called "school counselors". They don't want to be called guidance anymore.

Subject: [CASL-L] Grrrr

I was just skimming the ctreap page for jobs (yes, I know I'm retired; yes, I know COVID is still rampant; yes, I know I have a health condition) and I have a BIG issue with that site that so many prospective teachers in Connecticut turn to for careers.
1) POSITION only includes classroom teachers and substitutes.
2) SUBJECT AREA does not include either "Librarian" or "Library Media Specialist." Are we "Miscellaneous?" (For what it's worth, "Guidance" is nowhere to be found, either.)

To find SOME of the library openings I know are out there from other sources, I had to combine "miscellaneous" with either "library" or "librarian" as a keyword, or just use the keywords--some jobs under one, some under the other.

We are certified teachers. CTREAP, please respect that and treat us accordingly!!!!
