Good morning,

I hope this email finds you hanging in there--I know we are all in
different stages of getting back to school and our stress levels are super
high (mine included!) But working on taking it one day at a time and doing
the best I can for both my students/teachers/family AND myself!

I am doing some work with CT Public as an Outreach Specialist this year
with their amazing tool for news and media literacy called Thinkalong
<https://thinkalong.org/>. As part of our work to engage educators and
learners around media literacy and civil discussion, we're conducting a
survey - you can find it here
<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=hz35RqDD0kiDS-maVy3fMh5Wdy5uyc1Ag7PXq-3WRxdUMlczTVBHVDA1WUJFN1RNMVNPT0kxOEgyQy4u>
- to help us understand how often educators currently use public media
resources, what needs Thinkalong might meet for them, and whether they're
interested in collaborating with us. (It should take 6-8 minutes to
complete.)

Although this tool is more geared towards learners in grades 6-12, it could
serve as a tool for elementary learners as well and is overall a great tool
for adults to help them grow in their ability to find reliable information
and engage in civil discourse.

**As a bonus for filling out the survey--at least 50 CT educators will
receive a Crit Kit in the mail to use alongside Thinkalong. In addition,
the first 10 to complete the survey and email me (
joyfullearning at melissathom.com) will get a free book either delivered or
mailed to them!! :)

Lastly, if you share this information with your staff or other networks
(this is national, not just CT), I would be extremely grateful! If you are
able, BCC me on the message so I can track how many times it has been
shared.  (Here is a message
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sf9YR4xvN-qi8qPk3nPT1dr0RhQ5rtrSn5WgoNMCVFg/edit?usp=sharing>
you can copy and paste if that is easier!)

Thank you so much for your help in spreading the word! If you have any
questions, please let me know. Also, follow us on social media for the
latest news and updates!
