[CASL-L] Research Project for 5th graders

I use http://www.kidsgoglobal.net/ as a “pre-search” activity to connect
the students to a topic and fill in gaps in background knowledge.



I also have a resource list of picture books we use (attached)



>From there we use NewsELA articles, Scholastic Go, and Explora through
www.researchitct.org



These provide age appropriate materials for some pretty heavy topics.

Happy Valentine’s Day!



I was thinking of having my fifth graders choose a topic of research within
the area of social issues, does anyone have any suggestions or
recommendations for resources to discuss this genre with them at this level?
