[CASL-L] Benefits of a LMS in a 1:1 school

Just because the students all have a device doesn’t mean your curriculum is
no longer needed. In the era of fake news, your curricula is most
definitely needed! Just because the district is handing kids a new tool
doesn’t mean they know how to use it. Students still need to learn how to
navigate the device and use it for learning (not just consuming). The
research tools have moved online, but students will also read books, lots
of books. There will be a materials shift but the teaching is still needed,
more than ever because not only do students need to be knowledgeable
consumers of information, but they also need to be creators. This is also a
shift for teachers too. It’s going to take time. Chromebooks represent a
shift rather than a replacement.
