All,

Great news! The guidelines (Mary Ellen M, myself and many other librarians
have been working on) were approved and adopted by the Board at the January
2020 meeting. They were posted last night and may be found in two places on
the CSDE Website:

   -
   https://portal.ct.gov/SDE/Academic-Office/Digital-Citizenship-Internet-Safety-and-Media-Literacy-Advisory-Council;
   and

   -
   https://portal.ct.gov/SDE/Academic-Office/Information-and-Technology-Literacy
   .

While the AASL Standards have yet to be adopted by CT Dept of Ed, this
document cites them and goes on to mention the best practice of having a
certified librarian and well-funded/staffed library in every school!

Please spread the word to your Admins about these new recommendations, CASL
Board will make this part of our Advocacy plan!
